A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
Next winter, one of the Seattle area’s best-known ski resorts, the Summit at Snoqualmie, won’t require Ikon Pass reservations.
The resort, like a few others, used to require that Ikon Pass holders make a reservation before showing up in a bid to cut down on overcrowding.
Those rules won’t apply next season.
“Passholders can ride any day we’re operating, open to close for the 26-27 season,” the Summit wrote in a social media post. “Blackout dates still apply for Ikon Base and Ikon Session Pass holders.”
“We’re excited to offer more flexibility this upcoming winter!” the post continued.
At the Summit, Ikon Pass holders get between five and seven days of access, depending on if they have an Ikon Base Pass or an Ikon Pass.
As is often the case with anything involving parking or season pass access at ski resorts, the response to the post on social media was mixed. Some were stoked. Others not so much, apparently fearful that the Summit would become ridden with traffic (and, in a common throughline below the Summit’s posts, people also begged for a rope tow).

In response, the Summit published another post.
“We know this caught some of you off guard and if your gut reaction was ‘great, now it’s going to be a mess out there’ we get it,’” it read, in part. “That’s exactly the concern we want to address head-on, because it’s not what’s actually happening.”
The resort said that Ikon Pass reservations haven’t been its only crowd management tool. The Summit continued that it also uses lift ticket capacity caps and that this approach isn’t going away, noting that with Ikon Pass reservations canned, the resort will probably sell out of lift tickets sooner and on more days than in the past.
“Worth noting, we’re one of a small number of West coast resorts that actually stops selling tickets once a day hits capacity—a policy we’ve held for many years, specifically to keep things in check,” the Summit wrote.

The post also noted that Summit-specific passholders will “always be our #1,” with free parking and no reservations.
The change comes as ski resorts across the country shuffle and tweak reservation systems—both for lift access and parking. Skier visits peaked nationwide during the 2022-23 season, which saw record snowfall in some places but fell off significantly this past winter as much of the West dealt with a dramatic snow drought.
Across the resorts available with the Ikon Pass, now only three require reservations: Jackson Hole in Wyoming, Deer Valley in Utah, and Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.

Morrissey has canceled his four-date Las Vegas residency at The Wynn just a week before showtime, Rolling Stone reports. The musician cited “unforeseen logistical issues” as the reason for the sudden cancellation.
The former Smiths frontman was set to play four shows at The Wynn’s Encore Theater starting Aug. 14. Ticket buyers were informed via email on Friday that all nights have been wiped. No reason was given as to why Morrissey shut down the Vegas residency outside of the unnamed “logistical issues.”
“Hello, we regret to inform you that Morrissey – Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been canceled,” the email read. “Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.”
The residency has been scrubbed from The Wynn’s website, and a listing on Ticketmaster’s page reads, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” Earlier Saturday morning, Morrissey’s website still had the shows listed, but they’ve since been taken down. Morrissey’s next dates include Sept. 19 at Chicago’s Riot Fest, Sept. 22 at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre in Buffalo, N.Y. and Sept. 26 at Brooklyn’s CBGB Festival.
Rolling Stone reported that Morrissey has made a habit of canceling shows, canceling 22 performances and postponing 10 others in 2025 alone. Several of his other cancellations have also had slightly vague explanations, including “reasons completely beyond our control,” “sleep deprivation” and “adverse reaction to a prescription medication.”
Morrissey last performed on Aug. 1 in Portugal.

From the Sierra Nevada to Utah’s Cottonwoods, ski resorts got slammed, over and over again, until the snow piled so high that it obscured chairlifts, houses, and the natural features that, usually, help separate one trail from the next.
We’re talking about the 2022-23 ski season. It answered a question that skiers often bandy about on chairlifts and in dark, crowded bars: is there such a thing as too much snow?
The answer, it turns out, might be yes. Take a trip down memory lane as ski filmmaker Scott Gaffney explores “Snowmaggedon.” Tap or click to watch below.
Gaffney, who directed many of your favorite ski movies (he’s a longtime Matchstick Productions guy), offered some context behind the short video in a social media post.
“The craziest thing about these images is that the snow so dwarfed the homes that it made them appear fake, like a child’s playset of model houses,” he wrote. “But no, most of them are massive two and three story structures.”
He added that it took him three years to get around to compiling the footage, writing, “To be fair, when I shot them, we were a little busy keeping our heads above water, shoveling and snowblowing like they were full-time jobs.”
Shoveling, indeed.
Palisades Tahoe, one of the best-known Lake Tahoe ski resorts, tallied 723 inches, well above its average annual snowfall of 400 inches. In March, 191 inches fell, or about 16 feet. Thanks to all the snow, Palisades Tahoe kept its lifts spinning until early July.

As evidenced by Gaffney’s video, that didn’t just mean non-stop powder days, though. Locals spent much of the winter digging themselves out from the towering mounds of snow.
And the hammering wasn’t limited to Lake Tahoe.
Further south, Mammoth Mountain, California, hit nearly 900 inches at its summit. Utah’s Alta Ski Area recorded 903 inches. I vividly remember one of my friends who lives in Salt Lake City complaining—complaining!—about the lack of clear days.
What a strange and fantastical time it was.

Morgan Wallen has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with “I’m the Problem” for a 14th non-consecutive week, while Charli xcx debuts at No. 3 with her eighth album “Music, Fashion, Film.”
“I’m the Problem,” which was released more than a year ago, ticks from No. 3 to 1 on this week’s chart with 80,000 equivalent album units. The album initially debuted at No. 1 in May 2025. Wallen, who is currently on his “Still the Problem” stadium tour, recently dropped his new single “Been By Now,” which is a standalone track and not included in the album’s latest tally.
Charli xcx, meanwhile, earns her fourth top 10 as “Music, Fashion, Film” bows at No. 3 with 78,000 equivalent album units, marking her biggest debut by that metric. Earlier this year, her soundtrack for “Wuthering Heights” debuted at No. 8, and with her latest, the pop star becomes the only woman and third act overall to have at least two debuts in the top 10 this year. Previously, Drake earned three concurrent debuts with “Iceman,” “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” while Ateez had two debuts with “Golden Hour : Part.4” and “Golden Hour : Part.5.”
Elsewhere in the top five, Olivia Rodrigo’s “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” holds steady at No. 2, while Ella Langley’s “Dandelion” and Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” maintain at Nos. 4 and 5.
Rounding out the top 10 are Drake’s “Iceman,” Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Olivia Dean’s “The Art of Loving” and Kahan’s “Stick Season.”
