Utah’s Brighton Resort is ringing in the Christmas spirit the best way they know how— with free lift tickets!
On Christmas Day, the first 200 folks dressed up as Santa or Mrs. Claus at the ticket window will receive a free lift ticket for the day. Brighton also knows that the whole ‘holly jolly’ thing isn’t everyone’s vibe, so they’ll also issue free tickets if you’re dressed as the Grinch.
Brighton’s annual Santa Run will also take place in one big showing of Christmas cheer. Those in costume can meet at the top of Majestic at 11:30 a.m. for a group ski lap down together. There’s no better (or weirder) way to say ‘Merry Christmas’ than seeing 200 people dressed as Santa on skis.

In addition to their Santa celebration, Brighton won’t require parking reservations on Christmas Day. Reservations will be required every other day during the holiday period until January 4th, 2026.
Forecasts are showing that Brighton might also have a white Christmas, with four inches of snow forecasted to fall on the 25th and another four on the 26th. Additionally, Saturday, December 27th could bring up to 9″ of snow to Brighton, making for some great Christmas-weekend turns.
Brighton isn’t the only ski area with a silly number of Santa’s gracing the slopes this holiday season. Maine’s Sunday River also recently hosted their Santa Sunday event, which raises money for a local non-profit and spreads holiday cheer via some kind of Santa fever-dream. Whistler Blackcomb also had their ‘Dress Like Santa Day’ this past week. The first 100 folks in line on December 19, dressed in their finest Santa or Mrs. Claus outfits received free lift tickets.
