Next winter, one of the Seattle area’s best-known ski resorts, the Summit at Snoqualmie, won’t require Ikon Pass reservations.
The resort, like a few others, used to require that Ikon Pass holders make a reservation before showing up in a bid to cut down on overcrowding.
Those rules won’t apply next season.
“Passholders can ride any day we’re operating, open to close for the 26-27 season,” the Summit wrote in a social media post. “Blackout dates still apply for Ikon Base and Ikon Session Pass holders.”
“We’re excited to offer more flexibility this upcoming winter!” the post continued.
At the Summit, Ikon Pass holders get between five and seven days of access, depending on if they have an Ikon Base Pass or an Ikon Pass.
As is often the case with anything involving parking or season pass access at ski resorts, the response to the post on social media was mixed. Some were stoked. Others not so much, apparently fearful that the Summit would become ridden with traffic (and, in a common throughline below the Summit’s posts, people also begged for a rope tow).

In response, the Summit published another post.
“We know this caught some of you off guard and if your gut reaction was ‘great, now it’s going to be a mess out there’ we get it,’” it read, in part. “That’s exactly the concern we want to address head-on, because it’s not what’s actually happening.”
The resort said that Ikon Pass reservations haven’t been its only crowd management tool. The Summit continued that it also uses lift ticket capacity caps and that this approach isn’t going away, noting that with Ikon Pass reservations canned, the resort will probably sell out of lift tickets sooner and on more days than in the past.
“Worth noting, we’re one of a small number of West coast resorts that actually stops selling tickets once a day hits capacity—a policy we’ve held for many years, specifically to keep things in check,” the Summit wrote.

The post also noted that Summit-specific passholders will “always be our #1,” with free parking and no reservations.
The change comes as ski resorts across the country shuffle and tweak reservation systems—both for lift access and parking. Skier visits peaked nationwide during the 2022-23 season, which saw record snowfall in some places but fell off significantly this past winter as much of the West dealt with a dramatic snow drought.
Across the resorts available with the Ikon Pass, now only three require reservations: Jackson Hole in Wyoming, Deer Valley in Utah, and Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
