Out West, another resort contender is joining the early-season shuffle: Lake Louise, Alberta, will kick off winter earlier than planned on Sunday, November 1, per a recent announcement.
The resort originally planned to open on November 6.
This marks Lake Louise’s second-earliest opening in history and, according to the resort, comes courtesy of cold October weather and its hardworking team.
At Lake Louise—as at most other ski resorts that open this time of year—the digs will be modest to start, with access to the Easy Street trail via the Juniper Express. But Lake Louise will offer two terrain parks with jumps and rails. The resort’s set to be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lake Louise’s webcams show solid fall snow coverage.
At the time of writing this, Lake Louise’s neighbor, Banff Sunshine Village, hasn’t shared any news about opening. But both resorts tend to open around the same time. You can check Sunshine Village’s Instagram page for the latest news.
Lake Louise’s planned opening comes after two regular frontrunners, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone Resort, Colorado, kicked off the North American season this week. Another ski area in the state, Wolf Creek, plans to open on Halloween.
Beyond that, many resorts aren’t slated to open until late November. Even if you’re too far away to stop by Alberta or Colorado, though, it’s worth seeing these openings as a sign we’re all headed in the right direction. Before too long, it’ll be time to click in.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
